SPECIFICS AND EDUCATIONAL GOALS1. To actively participate in the affairs of the community and in concrete actions on the ground that aim to promote the public interest, equality and solidarity.2. To reflect on citizenship issuesThe civic internship aims to get you thinking in depth about citizenship issues such as education, employment, environment, justice, health, etc. and to help you connect your disciplinary, multidisciplinary and methodological learning in the humanities and social sciences with your experience on the ground. 3. To work in direct contact with the beneficiaries of the civic activities undertakenExamples: reception, facilitation, support, social assistance, etc. |
EXAMPLES OF CIVIC ACTIVITIES
-> promoting social inclusion through cultural, sports or employment-related activities;
-> facilitating environmental awareness workshops with children or reading sessions with seniors; -> doing charitable night rounds among homeless people; -> helping restore historic sites, etc. |
CONDITIONS
- This internship is compulsory for first year Undergraduate College students
- To be completed off campus between mid-May and mid-August
- Minimum duration: four to six consecutive (140 hours minimum)
- One month minimum in person internship (full time) within one organisation only
- With a non-partisan, non-profit or public interest organisation, whether public, charitable or private
- In France or in Europe
- In the form of an internship or fixed-term contract
STEPs AND REQUIREMENTS OF COMPLETION
Step 1: Declare your « civic engagement internship » onlineStudents must declare their Civic Internship online between 4 March and June 28, 2024, deadline, on the student space by selecting the appropriate category: internship, volunteer position, or fixed-term contract/CDD. Your proposed internship will be examined and approved by your campus Civic Internship Coordinator Step 2: The civic internship validation After the Internship has ended and for final validation (worth 3 ECTS credits), students must submit the following documentson the online Civic Learning Program workspace (Section “3: The Civic Internship”):

IMPORTANT
The 3 ECTS credits are not awarded if :
> you start your internship without having declared it online beforehand on the student portal > you have not obtained approval from your civic programme coordinator. Your internship cannot be accepted after its start or completion. The civic engagement internship cannot be validated :
> if the documents attesting to completion of the assignment (The Critical Reflection Report,The Project Completion Form completed by your tutor, a copy of your pay slip/s if you have completed a Fixed-term position/CDD) are missing. > or if they do not meet the learning expectations stipulated in the civic programme specifications.
