One To World, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit membership organization which links New York City with the rest of the world through an array of educational services and outreach programs.  Dedicated to the promotion of global understanding, One To World creates opportunities for cultural, social, and intellectual interchange between international visitors--students, scholars, trainees, and their families--and residents of the New York metropolitan area.  One To World serves as the officially-designated coordinator of enrichment programs for visiting Fulbright scholars in New York and is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in providing substantive and innovative educational programming.

One To World Enrichment Program Global Fellowship: 2015-2016
(August 2015 – June 2016; Full-Time – 35-40 hours per week –weekend & evening hours required)

One To World (www.one-to-world.org) is a New York City based not-for-profit educational organization that brings Americans and international students face-to-face to share their lives and perspectives with the goal of creating global citizens.  The Global Fellow will assist One To World’s Enrichment Program team as well as One To World’s Development team in all aspects of the organization’s day-to-day operations.  The ideal candidate is a flexible, high-energy, team player, who is passionate about cultural exchange, citizen diplomacy, international education, and the opportunity to learn about non-profit management in the U.S.

Qualifications:

• Previous administrative experience, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Confident self-starter; ability to prioritize and juggle multiple assignments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, and PowerPoint (web design a plus)
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills (oral, written, cross-cultural)
• Proficiency with social media (Facebook, blogging, Twitter)
• English fluency (both written and oral)
• High energy and enthusiasm for position; willingness to work some evenings and weekends
• Can-do attitude, outgoing, flexible, patient and friendly personality

Primary Responsibilities:  

1.) Program Support

• Program data entry and management;
• Co-lead 3-4 international student/scholar programs and activities per month;
• Plan and co-lead monthly Cultural Cuisine dinners;
• Cultural enrichment event planning and development;
• Respond to student inquiries regarding One To World programs and services;
• Co-lead interactive workshops on France and French culture in New York City public school classrooms (youth ages 6-18) as part of One To World’s Global Classroom “Passport to France” program;
• On-site staffing at One To World student & development events as needed

2.) External Relations

• Assist with student outreach and communication for One To World’s events;
• Assist with the writing and distribution of e-newsletters & other marketing materials for various constituencies;
• Assist with website maintenance and content development;
• Assist with managing  One To World’s social media presence;
• Represent One To World and make presentations at student fairs, campus orientations, & other special events

3.) Management/Office Administration
• Assist Executive Director and development team on all aspects of day-to-day operations;
• Assist with special event planning, coordination, and execution; assist with mass mailings, filing, record keeping, data entry, and management

4.) Other duties as requested

This internship position is a great fit for any student interested in NGOs, Culture, Education, Marketing, Communications, Non-Profit Management or Event Planning. It is a full-time position that lasts for 10 months. We are accepting applications for candidates who are completing their requirement for the 3rd year abroad, as well as Master's Degree students who would like to take a gap year to develop their professional skills. We have hosted interns from Sciences Po for the past 8 years and would be happy to put you in touch with our former interns who can give you more information about their experiences.
