COVID-19 : About internships

4 gestes barrieres
For all questions relating to ongoing internships and professional placements, please consult this FAQ page, also available in regularly updated form on the Sciences Po institutional website.

you are a student:

Due to the current situation and its evolution, the validation of internships, professional experiences or volunteering is suspended sine die, whatever the missions and the country. This information is valid for all current or future requests.

The past week has enabled the “Direction de la formation” to offer you, as of Monday, March 23, educational continuity, built in close collaboration with the Academic teams and teachers of your programs.

The transition to online teaching we are proposing, requires an important adjustment to final exams and to the Grand Oral, which will need to be modified. We will inform you of the precise validation methods to be applied, during the week beginning 6 April at the latest. This will also involve issues linked to the assessment of internships and apprenticeships.

We imagine and share your disappointment. We are aware of all the energy that you have devoted to your projects, but the unprecedented situation requires such decisions. In this troubled period, be assured that the entire Sciences Po Careers team, along with the “Direction de la formation” and the Department for International Affairs, will do everything in their power to enable you to complete this Academic year in the best possible conditions.

I am currently doing an internship: can I pursue it?

Yes, if you are authorized to work remotely (except Civic Learning programme internships, which are suspended). All students in France and abroad are invited to ensure with their employer that they can telework, in order to guarantee satisfactory health-safety conditions.

I cannot work remotely: what should I do?

In that case, we recommend that you stop your internship, and declare your situation in your student space - section: request an internship amendment.

I just found an internship: can I obtain an agreement?

No: given the health crisis and its evolution, the validation of internships, professional experiences or volunteering is suspended sine die, whatever the nature of the role and the country concerned. This information is valid for all current or future requests.

you are a recruiter:

About posting your internships opportunities:

Following the announcement by the President of the Republic on March 14, 2020 regarding the COVID-19, all internship / job validations have been suspended until further notice for all of our Students, whatever the country and the nature of the missions.

However, we have decided to keep the offers online, in order to allow the continuity of the link that you want to forge with our Students. These uploads do not guarantee that Students will be allowed to start their internships, jobs or professional experience any time soon. We nevertheless hope that the contacts made today will allow you to consider them for future recruitments, with a delayed start, depending on the evolution of the health situation we are currently going through.
